A native South Floridian, she earned her B.S. in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Mathematics from Howard University in 2020 before switching coasts for her graduate studies at UC Berkeley. In 2026, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry developing near-infrared fluorescent nanosensors for neurochemical imaging. Jonathan Wu (he/him) is a Future of Higher Education Postdoctoral Fellow with Berkeley Discovery. He holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology and his research examines twentieth- and twenty-first-century popular music, traditional performance, and media, focusing on cultural exchange and transnational circulation between China and Kenya.
