Where to build Prototypes:

  • Jacobs Maker Pass Resources within the makerspace include design specialists, workshops and materials store. 
  • Moffit Library: Moffitt library offers tools for craft and digital projects, as well as workshops, learning resources and project inspiration.
  • Supernode space: Free use of equipment including general electronics, power electronics and surface mount (SMT) bench.
  • B makerspace: A free, open-access makerspace for exploring technology and making.
  • Citris Invention Lab: Offers resources such as a learning center, maker space, research lab and an incubator.

Where to Access Art Studios:

  • Berkeley Art Studio Classes: Classes in ceramics, photography, drawing, painting, design and printmaking offered. Check out the classes and schedules offered at the student rate!
  • Art Studio Creative Lab: Offers printing and design services as well as classes and workshops focused on graphic design, web design, digital storytelling and digital photography.

Where to Build Multimedia Skills:

  • Ethnic Studies Podcast & AR: Offers a Changemaker course and resources on developing podcasts and augmented reality projects, as well as studio space you can book.

Where to Learn Web Design Skills:

  • Web Building: Choose from a few options for building websites, including both campus-supported and self-service, DIY offerings.

  • Sign Up for Adobe Creative Cloud: Registered students have access to applications and services used for designing print and online media assets, video editing, web development and photography offered within Adobe Cloud.

  • Design at Berkeley: Student-run organization offering accessible resources within Design such as classes, events and advising

  • BluePrint: Find out more on developing pro-bono apps for nonprofits and promote tech for social good offered by Blueprint, a UC Berkeley student club.

  • Innovative Design Club: Learn more about free or low-cost design, photography, and web services offered by this student-run club.
