Bio/CV: 

Emrys (they/them) received their BA in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and is a MS candidate in Creative Technology & Design from CU Boulder. They currently serve as a UX Researcher for CU Boulder’s Office of Information and Technology, UX team where they work closely with students, staff, and faculty to identify and design improvements to CU’s tools and services. Prior to this, they have translated user research into actionable recommendations for popular social media applications and robotic products, created and maintained websites tailored for therapists and mental health professionals, and helped curate a makerspace centered around improved STEM pathways for Middle School special ed students. Their professional career aims to leverage their interdisciplinary expertise in social science and technological development.

For a long time, real-world readiness through Higher Ed has been distinct from, but loosely intertwined with academic curriculum and experiential opportunities. Emrys is excited to partner with the Discovery team to strengthen the ties between in-class understanding and beyond classroom application for undergraduate students through the Discovery Database.
