College of L&S, Geology
Yueyi Che is an international student from China who majored in geology and minored in climate science. On her path to becoming a professional geologist with a focus on climate science, Yueyi utilized many programs at UC Berkeley to build her skills as a researcher, science communicator, and team member. The SURF program funded her senior thesis field research in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and this video highlights her team work with Berkeley's Fung Fellowship to build a data visualization tool for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to help with the increased concern around ocean sound pollution.
