Women's health spaces

College of Environmental Design, Individual Major

As a student in the College of Environmental Design, Grace Schimmel is fascinated with the mutual influence between bodies and spaces. Her senior thesis explores this concept as applied to reproductive healthcare in the United States. Weaving together the disciplines of architecture, sociology, art history, and gender & women's studies, her capstone project proposes alternative forms of continued presence for abortion clinics in a political landscape increasingly hostile to women's rights.
