Evelyn Thorne (she/her) is a writer, facilitator, and educator with a focus on how systemic and cultural contexts shape our creative selves. Bringing a background in creative education, arts administration, community engagement, and student leadership, she specializes in supporting students to realize their creative potential. 

Her interests were fostered at San Jose State University as a Creative Arts undergraduate major, where she became deeply invested in the social justice community. Then at University of Oregon, where she received her master’s in Arts Administration with a concentration in Community Arts Management, researching pedagogical practices for facilitating educational environments that build creative confidence. Highlights of her career include managing community engagement student programs at the CA College of the Arts as Manager of Professional Development & Student Engagement for the Center for Art + Public Life, and as faculty at her alma mater San Jose State, teaching interdisciplinary undergraduates to see themselves as creative agents of change. Other roles include serving as Chair of Emerging Leaders in the Arts Network, Political Power Fellow at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and co-founder and Creative Director of Art Kit Magazine: Your Guide to Art + Community.
