Amy Louise Azuma

Job title:
Discovery Opportunities Database Manager
Department:
Berkeley Discovery
Bio/CV:

As Discovery Opportunities Database Manager, Amy brings her core strengths: developing programs, centering the student experience, and cultivating partnerships to solve complex problems. Her work on the new Discovery Opportunities Database is grounded in the compassion for students navigating this huge institution, which she developed as a student adviser in the College of Letters and Science and at the Berkeley International Office.

Without the tool, a centralized database connecting undergraduates with research, public service, and entrepreneurial opportunities, too many students have no idea what kind of opportunities exist, how to find them or if participating may be financially feasible. This database addresses all three points.

Her role requires overseeing platform implementation, managing student workers, and updating stakeholders of database milestones while ensuring faculty, staff and students have all they need to leverage the database, which currently experiences 200% growth.

Amy has spent her career in education either advising, teaching, or directing programs. She's a Cal alum (BA, English) and a graduate of SIT with a Masters of Arts in International Education, with a concentration in Youth Leadership.
